Description
Morelia spilota, commonly referred to as carpet python and diamond pythons, is a large snake of the family Pythonidae found in Australia, New Guinea, Bismarck Archipelago, and the northern Solomon Islands. Reaching between 2 and 4 m (6.6 and 13.1 ft) in length and weighing up to 15 kg (33 lb). The colouring is highly variable, ranging from olive to black with white or cream and gold markings. Described as semiarboreal, they are largely nocturnal, climbing trees and shrubs, as well as crossing open areas such as rock faces, forest floors, and even roads. However, they do often like to bask in the sunshine too.
Finding its inspiration with this member of the reptilian world, the ‘ Carpet Python’ Raw Silk Jacket adopts the gold sand tones and interweaves it with purple and black silk to create this weave of interest. Naturally inspired and exquisitely textured, this jacket is at ease in all environments and all occasions.
