Description
The Blue Mountains is a mountainous region located in New South Wales, Australia, comprised of a range of mountains, plateaux and escarpments extending off the Great Dividing Range.
The name Blue Mountains was derived from the blue tinge the range takes on when viewed from a distance. The tinge is believed to be caused by Mie scattering which occurs when incoming light with shorter wavelengths is preferentially scattered by particles within the atmosphere creating a blue-greyish colour to any distant objects, including mountains and clouds.
Sydneysiders love these mystical mountains. They are a place of romance, adventure and mystery - could there be a better inspiration for a jacket? We think not. In true Banana form, the 'Blue Mountains Stringybark' Raw Silk Jacket is a mystical and magical beauty. Rich blue silk is interwoven with black to create a style that is as intriguing to the viewer as the mountain themselves.
