Description
Cobalt-based blue pigments have been used for three millennia, right across the ancient and modern world but it was not until the 18th Century that its ores were separated from others and isolated to be better understood for its own properties. Simply stated, outside of rare meteorite fragments, on earth, Cobalt is never found on its own, but always paired up with other elements. In Joe Bananas Cobalt weave, the blend of cobalt blues are found mingled within a crystalline formation surrounded by silver threads.
DRESS IT UP: This rare find does black tie with ridiculous ease… simply add formal black trousers, patent leather shoes, white dress shirt and black bowtie, pause, then order your martini.
DRESS IT DOWN; Pale blue chinos or light denim with a LOUD shirt. Don’t worry, Cobalt blue will keep all in check.
FUN FACT: Despite being a common element, it is rarely found in abundance and therefore scarcely mined in large quantities, making it highly valuable.
